Major instruments in the lab

TissueLyser II - For medium- to high-throughput sample disruption for molecular analysis

QIAcube HT - Instrument for automated mid- to high-throughput nucleic acid purification in 96-well format

QIAcuity Digital PCR System - The QIAcuity Digital PCR System delivers precise and multiplexed quantification results for mutation detection, copy number variation (CNV), gene expression studies, gene editing analysis, and many more.

8860GC-5977B MS - Gas chromatography - Mass Spectrometry - The Agilent 5977B GC/MSD is a routine and reliable workhorse for environmental impurities and food testing, chemical and petrochemical analysis, as well as the analysis of forensic and pharmaceutical compounds.

QFX Fluorometer - The QFX is a powerful solution for all fluorometric applications where enhanced specificity or sensitivity is needed. We mainly use this instrument for quantifying nucleic acids and proteins.

Iris Visible Spectrophotometer (HI801-01)—The HI801 iris is a sleek and intuitive spectrophotometer that measures all wavelengths of visible light. We mainly use this instrument for understanding nutrient fluxes (including nitrate and phosphate) and to assess water quality.

Multiparameter pH/ISE/EC/DO/Turbidity Waterproof Meter (HI9829)-  The HI9829 is a waterproof portable logging multiparameter meter that monitors up to 14 different water quality parameters. The microprocessor-based multi-sensor probe allows for the measurement of key parameters, including pH, ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and temperature. We use this instrument for on-site measurement of physicochemical parameters.

Advanced computing access

GACRC - Georgia Advanced Computing Resource Center

Our lab also has instruments like PCR thermocycler, BSC, and centrifuge for routine molecular biology and microbiology work. Don't hesitate to contact the PI if you want to collaborate or analyze samples in our lab.
